Wexford Harbour flounder sometimes bear the scars of near misses with seals, bass and cod.

Get flounders now and again around NE England with them, some sort of disease. Also get quite a few double siders, had one the other week. Basically brown both sides or blotches of brown. The full double siders make you have a double take to make sure you're seeing right.

had similar flounder from several marks on the north coast(with the sores that is), dunno what causes them, the first one i got in an estuary and i put it down to perhaps pollution of some sort but i have since caught a few from surf beaches with similar sores. - and some of the double siders as well from the river roe estuary dunno if its the bottom causes colour change or if its a mutation or genetic dissorder or whatever though!! :?

Never seen blisters on any flounders I've caught from Donegal or Mayo or anywhere else for that matter. Fish though are susceptible to a vast array of diseases, parasites etc., so it might just be a naturally occurring infection.
