Lads has anyone any info on registering specimen flounder? I have the 2014 specimen book and one section details photographs needed but at the back of the book it says the body is required. Also, how do I go about getting a scales certified? Does it have to be a specific model of scales? Any info greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just send a pic of the fish on a measure and a pic of it on the
scales and u should get your badge

For Flounder, pictures will normally do, once they are of high quality. You need to show the full fish, front and back plus a couple of "head and shoulder" pics to show absence of the boney ridge normally found on a Plaice. This should do it. There are a good few posts on the different scales that guys use.

Yeah for photograph claims your scales needs to be certified as accurate beforehand

Thanks Mac, from what I can see the Berkeley
scales is the one to go with. Any idea where I get it
certified in the Meath/Dublin area?
I like the Berkley TEC
scales. I've had mine
certified now for about 6 years, withour any hassle. I have a buddy who ownes one and it failed certification. I have the 100lb in 1oz increments, which I feel I need for chasing Tope. The Salter Electro Samson sacles seem to be the most used out there from what I can see and I know lots of guys have had no issues with certification and they can be re-callobrated as well.
