If they are the ones Im thinking of, green, rechargeable with something like a CFL bulb in them, a buddy of mine has one and uses it constantly with no complaints.

For 30 euro i reckon i cant leave it there, i'll give it a blast during the week and see how that bad boy goes. if its shyite you might see it on ebay next week.

26 euro - The seem fine.
They take 4 D batteries. I'm going to have to pick up rechargables and a charger.

Was in Homebase- they have rechargeable lanternss for about 45 euro. You can charge them manually if you run out of juice..
Anyone try them?

If its similar to the one described above, I have one and its fine. Not the brightest thing in the world but dead handy all the same. Not used it in a while as I've lost the flippin charger....

you can use another power adapter.. just make sure you have same voltage output and similar amps and it should charge fine for you.. the connectors can be picked up in most electrical shops..

Got one of these and have used it four times now. I agree that it is not that bright, compared with a coleman northstar, but when used with a headlamp it is spot on. I feel its a good buy.

got a green one(from Woolworth's, seen the same one in Argos) can be recharge/run via mains, car lighter socket and comes with a remote control, not as bright as merv's coleman, but good enough for me.

I got one out of B+Q for £15 and its great, Just make sure you keep it charged and ready to go for that quick trip out. it aslo comes with the 2 chargers.

Picked up something similar recently, a coleman job... - looks like a Northstar but it's just a battery operated CFL.

It takes 8 D size batteries and rather than get rechargeables I went to Maplin and picked up a small sealed lead acid battery with the same voltage, much less fiddly, easier to recharge and lighter too!
