Hi Guys,
Can anybody help me? I'm coming to Ireland in September and staying until the end of October. I will be traveling all over the south and staying for a couple of nights at Whitepoint Moorings in a camper van. Could you please give me some idea of rules and regs regarding fishing there, as I believe the water is between 20 and 30 mtrs deep. Also what can be caught there, also sizes.
Many thanks for your help Guys.

The water in front of the houses at Whitepoint Moorings is very shallow and has only about 6'-10' of water at low water.
A few hundreds yards to the left is the deep water berth you would have a better chance of a few fish there. There should be mackerel there in September along with the mackerel bashers. Bottom fishing for dogs and the odd conger. Small cod, whiting and coalies start to show towards the end of October.
The pier in the town would fish the same

Mackerel will do fine for the dogs and the conger
If you are there into late October crab for the cod and mackerel will do fine for the rest. There are plenty of good beaches in East Cork for other species. Paul should be able to help with bait and what happening on them

First thing first, hi to all;-)
I went to Cobh on sunday a week and a half ago (i think) morning time, happy out there was pissing rain (nobody around) and got a mackerel at the first cast. And that's it, nothing else. In fact i wasn't expecting a lot since i do classic spinning with a single lure, but there was no sign of life.
