best of luck with the quest James

We've a few spots in the west that can produce them and I aim to be hitting them in Late August and September.

The rig I've been told to use is a running leger, 2 metres of wire onto a 6/0 holding a mack fillet (not flapper), chucked out into a deep channel on the flood using waders, preferably at dusk on the bigger tide. I know the tope run to a far bigger stamp of fish in the east and hang around until October / November...

Happy to share anything we come up with...

Lost a good tope last week of the shore Antrim coast I was useing pulley rigs with 6/0 hooks as the ground was a rough mark but unfortunately my penn reel let me down. The bait was a fresh pouting I found over the years pouting and fresh flat fish are a real good bait for them if they are about of a beach. Hope this helps.
