Pookie, I have one of the daiwa sts 115 (supercast) bass rods. will bring it with me to the next meet if you are likely to be there and let you have a few chucks with it. Cracking wee rod though - really light but quite powerful.

ok mr blake carrington, MR. ZZIPLEX

Andy,

AFAIK the Daiwa bass rods are made in Scotland, if they are anything like what they used to be, they are the dogs do'dars. Paul Kerry designed the first ones and he still has plenty input, that's where my money would go.

The Grey's rods are made in China and contrary to what some believe do not have as good as guarantee as the Daiwa.

Andy,

No need to excuse yourself to me :)

I didn't mean to imply that they were bad because they are made in China.

I have a couple of rods (made in Korea) that knock the snot out of my Zziplex rods and people think I'm kidding until they try one.

What does get me about Grey's and they are going to come unstuck one of these days with the trading standards office, is that Guarantee they have..........why am I calling it a guarantee even

your zziplex cant be up to much than mate.

Sun Feb 12, 2006 12:32 am

What would you know about my Zziplex's MATE!! or are you a Mr Negative....you thinks the Korean rods couldn't be better.

You sound like the type of guy that knows nothing about rods other than the name that's on them. I could be wrong, you may know more than me, pray tell.....

Would you like to share your knowledge of Zziplex with us, what models you like best and why, how many you have used maybe.

Have you ever designed a rod, had blanks made to your own spec, have you ever built a rod. I would like to hear from someone who is such an expert as your good self

for the first time in your life you might be right mate, you seem to know it all mate where i dont profess to know it all but about zziplex i know quite a lot.over my fishing carrer i have owned at least 40 zziplex rods ranging from a tz500 to the latest xtr mate.as for building rods i get mine built the way I WANT THEM,next you will be telling us your terry carroll.this is a bit of banter mate,on a frendly forum but you seem to take umbrage at the sligtest thing now CHILL OUT.GO FISHING.

When it comes to Rods. Zziplex or otherwise Beachcaster tends to be one of the most knowledgable people I know! Currently, I'm learning a hell of a lot about Beach Fishing in General, and Beachcaster is ALWAYS one of the first to have positive input into my queries. 8)

Keep it cool lads.

Sun Feb 12, 2006 12:01 pm

Beachcaster,

I don't know you, you but in with an insult and you don't expect me to reply, c'mon.

I am not Terry Carroll, but I know him well enough, 95% of what I know about rods was learned from Terry. I have used his rods for over 25 years.

When I wanted to get my own range of rods made in Korea, it was Terry who advised my on quite a few points that was new ground to me.

Get to know someone before you insult them, my friends can do that anytime, strangers NO :)

Never call a mans rod!!   there are somethings just beyond forgiveness

ok mate ,i fish cast and love zziplex rods and to me everything else is second ,dont think i have ever owned a bad zziplex ,which i cant say for other rod manufactures.i would put a zziplex against any other rod on the planet with no hesatation, now you are also talking about you own rod ?can you tell us exactly what they are called and where we can get a look at one, better still send one to me and i will give and get an honest opinion form all who use it , hell you might be another julian shambrook??then and only then will i comment on your rod .if terry did advise you i am sure he gave you the best info he could,so lets here what this rod is so we can all have a look at it.if you where insulted by what i said you have taken it the wrong way,it is through forums like this that you meet people, mates ,i said this is a frendly forum where fun is allowed so dont take everything to serious mate.

if the two ladies would be so kind as to stand back to back, walk ten paces away from each other then turn and commence with the swinging of handbags i think this could easily be solved. or maybe not. but it has to be worth a try
