Feathers in the winter??

Sun Feb 15, 2015 12:55 pm

Howya lads, just wondering has anybody ever had success with using feathers in the winter months?
Apart from the obvious mackerel bashing in the summer I was curious to see if feathers could be used In the rest of the year.

theres a fella i used to meet the odd time on pilmore strand,an ol timer used to use feathers with a gripper all the time baited with lug instead of using a trace ...with a serious bass and cod tally...have seen lads take mackerel this way off beaches too during the summer, just plain feathers with a gripper...i always think that if an idea finds its way into your head, you have to try it...

When you think about it if your mark has a bit of depth and a tide running why wouldn't it work.
