All-round Beachcasting Rod

Wed Feb 08, 2006 11:05 pm

Hello there, was wondering if you guys could recommend a beachcaster to be used mainly on the beach, but will also be used for some rock fishing. It will need to be rung for a multiplier and perhaps forgiving of a novice caster who is keen to develop. All advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Depends what you want to spend.

For €150 (£100) you could do worse than a Greys Orion - try http://www.gerrysfishing.com/acatalog/index.html for some options.

I have an Orion 14' myself and can highly recommend it for all types of ground.

The Fox Trek is also a good multi ground rod I have found, I picked one up for around €110 but prices may vary.

If after great price call l&g tackle Ballynure if need more details let me know.

I got as first multiplier rod and to keep cost down. Name of rod is warbird, put into the search tab on forum to read what people thought. £60-70. This rod is great, i thought would do me a year until i learnt but iam keeping them now.

Great of the beach but come into there own of rocky ground so strong can pull anything up from deapth.

If its a great all rounder this is it only thing budget is the price. look and fell top range and work as good, again read reviews and see.

all depending on your budget there are quite a few out there from penn, greys etc in the £100 to £200 bracket that cover most situations.
