Hi lads quick question to do with booms on a shore rig was wondering what's the longest boom any one has used on a fatty rig I was makeing my own and was wondering about a 9in plastic boom with a 9 in 12lb snood size 1 hook and afew beads what wondering if anyone thought the boom was to long

There is nothing wrong with the length of the booms. Best to keep the snoods shorter than the booms though to prevent tangles and make them work most efficiently. About 3/4 the length of the boom is good. 12 lb line is also fine. Consider using smaller hooks though if using worm baits, size 2 or 4. Size 1's are good if using crab.
