Brill

Went out for a quick 2hr session yesterday morning and was pleasantly surprised by a double of brill. Just wondering how common or uncommon these are on the south coast in cork.

Very scarce down this part of the coast and even scarcer from the shore,so if you've nabbed a few a very big well done.If you managed to take a photo do a comparison with the turbot which are fairly common on some beaches down this way eventhough they are very small but can cause a bit of confusion to an untrained eye.

No pictures unfortunitly. Was more concerned with getting them back then run to the car cor the phone. From what ive seen and read they are very similar. These had a slightly rounder shape then flounder (my target spieces on the day) mid to dark in colour dark spots.

I know where your coming from on getting the fish returned quickly so well done on getting your priorities right.Eitherway at least you know you've nabbed a new species whatever they were 8)
