Lads was down at sandymount earlier. I actually was hoping to pick up about 150 lug as I always do as there was 3 of us heading out.
There was literally no casts. I tried digging and got about 20.
So just wondering has anyone any idea whats going on?

I live down that way and have dug down there all my fishing life i find the lug bed move from time to time say 1place in summer and somewere else in colder weather i am not saying there they are not were your digging but if u look over time the stream is never in the same place for long its always shifting so make sense that the sands are moving to there still there just a matter of finding them

I will be down again soon I hope. My dad was with me and he has never seen anything like it. If I've dug there 300 times he has dug there 3000 times. I'm sure it was one of those unexplained things. we walked all over the place looking for casts but they just werent there.
Tight Lines lads.

Db i had a similar topic going about the lack of casts last week, found it very unusual like u diging there for a few years, had to walk well beyond the stream before i got any lug lying together, very strange to see so few casts by the stream, i was digging for three days last weekend as i was heading to kerry for a few days, asi had not enough worms i tried a spot down there close to where i normally fish and happy days got lots of lug and they were dug in no time.

even with casts there doesnt make a difference as the beds are ruined with 6-8 people digging for shops and digging 400-500 worms every few days the beds are butchered
