Bass fishing northeast

Gents,
This was the first year that I really put in the hours Spinning for Bass and resulted in a good number of fish (all of which were returned except 1 which did not fight at all??) , July ,August and September were good but since then nothing, I fish the north east coast and was wondering if anyone else has had any luck in this area or is this normal for the fish to go off the take? Do the Bass push further south as we get closer to winter.

Hi Bubbner

as far as i am aware, bass are meant to move off-shore in the winter months. However, they are targeted and caught throughout the winter on the North coast, albeit in very little numbers.
Winter is a time when arguably other decent fishing has diminished and for this reason it is a time when i find myself targeting bass, there still does exist that outside chance of getting one.
But an outside chance it is, to catch a bass on the north coast in the winter is like finding a needle in a haystack as far as i am concerned. I have yet to get one! I know of many anglers that stand on those beaches for days on end for very little return.
Here, have a read at these reports I put up last winter, it will give an idea of the effort i have put in over the winter months in the past, with no success:

There just wouldnt be the same numbers of bass on the north coast as there would be on the south coast but you sound to have faired ok over the summer then. 8)
Id be keen to find out how you manage over the winter too if you decide to give it a go..
Summer months might be best all right but theres no harm in trying!
