Hi all I know this is not a report and also there has been no posts put up about it. Does anyone know if there are any cod or whiting or coalies being caught in cork harbour.cheers.

i wish i could answer you but the closest I've fished to the harbor was a month ago in roaches point which produced pollock , mackerel and scad . since then I've been heading further east ballycotton , garryvoe, youghal and ferry point the fishing has been excellent plenty of different species, i used to hit cobh, ringaskiddy, monkstown , crosshaven , currabinney and the like for a few hours after work a couple of nights a week but the fishing down east cork being good brought an end to that, if the weather stays like this i might be tempted to start checking out a few spots in the harbour again, i will let you know if i have any results , a lot of successful lrf in those spots

Since last posting a reply the fishing in the harbour and east of the harbour has produced decent codling and whiting in a number of places Cobh up to 3lb, Youghal up to 4.5lb( I heard of a few touching 6lb but I didnt witness it) , ballycotton up to 4.5lb(average size 1.5lb), Monkstown is fishing well reports of guys catching well into to double figures in regards the amount caught biggest coming in at 4.5lb.
Those weights are going by what I caught or lads who fish with me caught
Looks like it has been a very promising start to the winter season for codling biggest whiting ive seen so far this year from the shore was 1 1/2 lb very healthy looking fish, the only location ive yet to see whiting over the lb mark is Cobh.
Fishing seems best just before low tide up and about 2 hours after.
Weed has been good in Cobh and Ballycotton, Youghal and Monkstown weed is strong from 2-3 hours after low tide.
I hope this helps anyone travelling a distance, Ive bumped into anglers from Dublin, Wexford and Kilkenny in recent weeks, I'm planning on taking a few trips west cork direction ion the next few weeks, if anyone could throw me a few bits of info of how the fishing is going beyond courtmac further west that would be much appreciated , thanks
