I used to own a caravan there no the area well fishing can be hard goin at the best of times but the beach will throw up some nice flounder this time of year lug and rag work but fresh crab is killer there will also be whiting and small codling show coming into the colder months and the very odd bass can show this time of year in the right conditions the head itself will let you fish into deeper water and I have picked up codling to 3lb off it in the past along with small pollock mackerel and wrasse hope this helps .... Ps baltray at the mouth of the boyne a short drive from clotherhead throws up some nice bass this time of year to lug and crab especially when there's a surf running

Fishing has been very poor this year and last to be honest. Sea serpant is spot on with his species and areas. Dabs at distance off the beach in clogherhead. Baltray will be tough to get into if you don't know the area but mornington is the other side of the boyne mouth and is handy access, Peter in Drogheda angling centre will put you on fish and has great bait if you get a chance to go into him.

Fished the beach one afternoon a few weekends back. Lovely day. Only flounders but plenty of them, fish a cast really (once the tide moved) and was surprised at the size; the average was close to 30cms with the biggest at 34.
Fished from HT down to about 1 hour before low, mix of baits but most success with plain rag.
