If any of the marks in particular interest you, have a search of the forum to see if there are any recent posts.

If not, post in the Shore Q/A forum and somebody local to that mark should respond.

fenitbob, theres nothing that comes anywhere close to what you might be used to on your home patch! It depends on what your after. In Dublin the main piers are Dun laoighre and Howth. Both are easily got to on public transport and are mainly fished in the summer for macks, pollack and dogs. Theres decent conger to be had off both also. At this time of year its mainly pin whiting and small dabs in my experience. Dont know a whole lot about how wicklow and arklow piers fish at this time of the year but I wouldnt be very optimistic about either. There is still the odd bit of decent beach fishing to be had depending on where you're situated. Theres been a constant easterly for the last couple of days so North beach Greystones could be worth a chuck for a codling in the next day or two.

I can't comment on Howth as its been years since I fished it but I have fished the following and I would recommend these ones almost all year round except February and March as fishing is generally grim in shallower waters.

Wicklow Pier
Courtown (Both Piers, can throw up codling this time of the year)
Cahore (Fishing into the south side can produce, especially summer months)
Roadstone Pier - Arklow (Approval Required)
Wexford Harbour

The Piers north of Dublin, namely Skerries, Rush etc. I have not fsihed off in years so really don't know.

If you want to try somewhere over the next few weeks I would try either Wicklow or Courtown, both will through up Flats and Whiting with the possibilty of a Codling from Courtown. Lug always fishes best this time of the year over the sand at Courtwon.

Tight Lines.

Wicklow is Ok if you need a bit of shelter from a southerly gale, fish are mainly small whiting and Coalies with the usual dogs thrown in. Other than that I dont bother with piers.

yip, Wicklow can provide good shelter in most winds. Don't know much about it for winter/spring but summer brings small pollack, doggies and other fish normally only a few onces though, with one or two up to 1.5 lbs.Howth and Dun Laoire are probably far better but these are to far away for me. It can get absolutely jammed with mackerel bashers in season.
Bray pier is snaggy but drop straight down for a fair few shorthorn sculpin,
inside there are flatfish with some surprisingly big ones. Conger can be targeted but I have never tried.
Good luck
