Rigs

I have found many sites that show you how to make rigs, but none that actually give the lengths of the rigs, snoods, body, etc. Does anyone know a good site thats has this. thanks

For paternoster rigs I typically use a main body about the length of my two arms outstretched, with snoods around 18" long.

How far do you space out the snoods, from the weight clip and where you connect to your shock leader. for example a 3 hook setup

David,

Whatever length trace body you use, try to make the hook snood lengths so that the hooks wont catch on each other with any surf movement.

Personaly in the last few years I've started to make my own rigs with shorter snoods than I used to use. One time I would fish a single hook with a 2ft plus flowing snood without a thought, now my longest tend to be in the 18" bracket, most of the time they are under 12" on whatever trace lenght I use.

You are better off with a long trace and 2 or 3 snoods well apart, that way they cover more ground. Be careful though, long traces are not easy to cast, you need to time it right, or Mr Nest will show up
