Hi,
Im currently fishing a 13 ft beach caster and ive identified the need for something a bit longer to gain extra distance but which is still still practical, it would be in use mainly on the east coast and targeting Ray and Smoothhounds so would need to be able to handle larger fish. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Longer rods will gain you abit more distance but not that much. A sound technique with a 13 to 14 foot beach caster will give you all the distance you will ever need for fishing.
Sportscast Ireland hold casting days every month go along to one of them and the lads will have you hitting big distances more than you will get with a longer rod. pm paddyc to get more info on casting meets
