Colmic zero 7 has a lot more backbone in the butt than the yuki q7 and a nicer tip .Ive used the colmic and used my friends q7 and imo the colmic is steelier[he feels the same and now has a zero 7 as well].Two quality rods either way but don't be fooled into thinking either of them will handle heavy hauling and dragging despite casting weight descriptions and sales hype talk.5oz and 3 baits flaked to the horizon on clean venues they are sweet.Imo the ould grauvell dh with the heavy tip still wins on power front hands down.

I crashed my VW Golf once!
Snapped rods mean nothing, I have used the Q7 John and it's awesome, personally I think it's a very good long range clean ground weapon for when you need those extr yards. 4-5oz and bait ideal.
The Colmic I hear is fantastic and some very wise men using that too so it also has it's good points.

I think every rod brand has snapped a few times, I wouldn't let that put you of, I'm sure there is a good warranty with both, best bet is to try get a feel of them and see what you prefare yourself and go from there,

cheers lads thanks to everyone for their feedback. I had a cast with a q7 the other night and it felt great. I don't plan on hitting anything heavier than 5oz with these rods or using them in rough conditions. all I need to do now is have a look at the zero 7, thanks again. millman
