I've only had a quick look at the sundridge box and its flimsey compared to the shakespeare seat boxs. The shakespeare box has the advantage of the breakaway conversion kits which you can add at a later date. You won't travel to far with using the straps provided with these boxs.

yeah they are definatley lighter construction, and the strap is a bit short... Heard a few things about the catches not being the best.

I got the Sundrige one today.
I agree it's a bit flimsy but the brother in law works in argos and got it for £5.
Not to be sniffed at at that price!!!!!
I'll give it a go til I need a new one.

I paid ?15 for my Sundridge seatbox and the lids do take a bang to close but maybe that'll loosen up with wear. They have a tray which can be clipped over the edge inside the box or outside even with the lid closed. Seems stable enough and is handy for bait etc.
Enough about the 'box' bit. As a seat it's fine. How much time do you actually sit when fishing anyway? If fishing's that slow, I go for a natter with the next guy over.
The strap seems fine so far to me. I plan to soup up an old golf trolley to hold it for any venue involving a long walk.
I'd rather spend money on a rod rather than a box...more likely to improve me catch rate....
