Just looking for a bit of advice lads.
I recently purchased what I thought was a Shakespeare Rear Drag Mach 2xt 040 spinning reel.
I picked the reel up along with a rod last month. When i got them home I put them both away (4 the summer months) without really having a good look at what I had bought I examined it closely in the shop and the owner advised me on what to buy, so took his word.
I took the reel out this evening to fill a spare spool with braid, only to realise the reel in the box was a Front Drag reel! I only realised it as the two spare spools would not apply to the reel.
Basically I'm wondering if I got shafted? Was this an honest mix up? Did I get a better deal? Which is better?
The shop I purchased it in is now closed down (typical really) so is there any point in following this up further or should I just put it down to my own lack of knowledge and learn from a mistake
Cheers lads.
Cheers lads.

if it was me id be happy with the front drag reel, less mooving parts and less gaps and cracks to get clogged up with grit and saltwater, the front drag would be my first choice

Where did you buy it?

I purchased it in an angling centre in Wicklow, the man in the shop was extremely helpful also.

I'm with John on this one....

You got lucky. Rear drag are a nightmare for spinning especially anywhere near the salt and they will pack up in no time.
