right i know this may cause some serious debate but when the small pollock are badly hooked eg in the eye or something and its obvious there going to end belly up soon is there many fish that could eat these if casted out or am i better off to just through um back ?

I don't rate them as bait at all, they aren't an oily fish, so I don't think there's much of a scent. They might make a good conger bait but I'm not sure, someone will know!

I'd throw them in a bucket, have a few buddy's who take them for winter pike fishing.

was just thinking of putting them on a second rod and putting it out 20 yards or so just to see what happens instead of feeding the gulls with them like i reckon the pier im thinking would be a handy spot as theres always people filleting dead fish and throwing the remains in heard this could be a big impact with the conger any one agree or disagree ? im completely new to this shore fishing crack apart from the macks and the river fishing so i apologize if my questions seem stupid
