The brother gaffed this the other night, think it might be a baby flounder but the sandy look of it is throwing us a bit

i would also say flounder as it looks very couloured for a dab

Hiya Tightlines :lol:

Up here in the North we catch Dabs which have all manor of colours on them ranging from orange speckles right through to yellow. i think the shape is also a dead giveaway, :wink:

Now in my many years of sea fishing i have been known to be wrong :D

turn it upside down, if you can see the heart beating it's a dab. They are nearly translucent from their soft side. :)

Another quick way of telling is if u rub from the tail to the head a dab will feel rough and a flounder will be smooth ;)

sorry paul but flounder are rough aswell to the touch its plaice that are smooth to the touch
