Daylight bait fishing north east

Not looking for any marks - I know that they are tightly guarded here - but as someone very new to shore and bait fishing can I ask is there ANYTHING I can bait fish for in sept/Oct/Nov along the north east coast during daylight hours - apart from mackerel at present of course?. I would be thinking beach fishing as opposed to rocks.
I'll probably go anyway to practice with casting, rigs etc but it would be nice to think there's could be something out there to actually target. Sorry for the stupid question but I'm a brown trout fly fisher by birth and only going through my conversion now. ;)

Your fishing around Louth?
From now to December is the best months for fishing on the north east beaches,
There,s plenty of flounder and a few turbot in daylight so long as theres a bit of a surf.
If you fish into darkness the fishing will be much better, you should get plenty of flats, eels, rockling and whiting, with a few coalfish, codling and bass at times.
If there,s no surf i wouldn,t fish in the daylight.
