Admiralty Charts

Mon Sep 02, 2013 9:02 am

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of good online maps that give an idea of water depth?
Just heard about Admiralty maps today and they seem like a good resource if they were all compiled together.

Managed to find the following map of Howth, hope the links work for ye.
Looks like Howth Head is perhaps the best access to deep water around Dublin.

Decided to hop in the car yesterday and head down to Kilmore Quay.
Tried spinning off the pier for a couple of hours, the only success I saw were people bringing in crabs on lines with ragorm.

The search for my first Pollock continues!
Also tried spinning off the East Pier in Howth as someone recommended, it was near low tide though so wasn't surprised when I blanked.

I have that navionics app and reckon its very good. Its around 34 euros though but I'd use it a fair bit for mapping out areas to go out on the kayak plus on the water you can use it to save an area that produces fish. It suits my needs. The app is fairly sore on the battery when in use.
