I caught this little guy lrf fishing. For the size of him he put up a good scrap. Not sure what it is. I thought it might be a dragonet?

dragonet has a slimmer body, sharper "nose" and a poisonous spine in its dorsal fin...

there are a few species of gurnard in our waters but only grey gurnard have that distinguishing dark spot on the dorsal fin

Good to know about the poisonous spine

wouldn't want the young fella to pick it up as he's usually with me.
