at that size they are almost identicle man. the only surefire way to tell them apart is to run your finger across the up side of the fish. if you feel little lumpy bumps on him it is a turbot. if not, then it's a brill. but seeing as turbot are far more commonly caught i'd hazard a guess that it is a turbot. but just feel for the lumpy bumps (tubercles) in furture and it will keep you right

Turbo Eyes and colour on the left side, which is variegated brownish with numerous bony tubercles. Body diamond-shaped. If you run your hand on the skin of the fish you will feel these little bumps
