Most anglers, especially Match anglers tend to take everything they can to the beach when they go fishing, right. Draw a far away peg and your knackered by the time you get to it, 5 hours later you need to make the return journey. Even young guys who are fit, get back to the car puffing and panting.
The guys in Florida use beach carts, most have the big balloon "Go Anywhere" wheels, not cheap, but they really can go anywhere, over railway lines, up or down stairs, even through the softest of sand.
At between €200/€300 how many guys in either Ireland or the UK would invest in a piece of tackle like this. I know I would. Get back to the car without needing the kiss of life, fold it up, in the boot and your off.
I know lots of the freshwater anglers use carts, they don't have to cope with some of the terrain sea anglers do though, right! the carts/trolley's they use are no good for what is needed on sand, shingle, rocks even, I've tried those carts, soon as you hit soft sand the wheels get stuck.
I am very interested to here all comments.
btw...The balloon tyre's are what makes the cart/trolley so expensive, but they are the best for the job.

Andy,
Here you go...
http://www.roleez.com/beach-cart-roleez-wheels.php
I was on one beach in Florida where the sand was so soft it came up past your anckle, very hard walking, the guy I was with had one of these carts and it jusst rolled over the sand, he had plenty of gear with him too, massive cooler, 6 aluminium sand spikes, chairs, the works.
Those wheels are almost $100.00 each for the 11" size, thats right! EACH!
But they work, and all the guys I know over there have them, some with the 4 wheel carts and other with the 2 wheel trolley.

Wish I could get wheels like that for my Landrovers :D
Somthing a bit more purpose designed for fishing would deffo interest me
ie rod holders. bait table, bait box etc

Andy,
Have you got my phone bugged
I am working on a prototype with Ian Golds, we are waiting for one or two more things being made to finish it. Like you said, it will have rod holders, probably 2, and a bait tray/table, it will also double up as a rod rest, and have a few more goodies too.
It will be made out of the normal aluminum that he uses, it will be telescopic and fold almost flat, those wheels have a clever clip, so they can be taken off and put on really quick.
Once the first prototype is made I will try and post a picture of it.
Our target price is under €300.00, that is with everything on it.anyone who thinks that expensive just needs to tally up all the little bits of odds and ends it will have. It should be as well priced as anything similar on the market, even with the Roleez wheels.

Id put more than 2 rod holders on it .... just the tubes like they use on boats
Everything needs to be pretty secure too...maybe include some kind of cargo net or straps ?

Andy,
I hear what you say, we've been working on this for quite a time, until we secured the deal on the wheels it was a none starter, that's done now and the prototype will be ready soon. Like anything either Ian or myself has done over the years it will keep going until its as near 100% as possible. Its impossible to please everyone, but we listen and act, so if anyone wants to chip in, feel free 8)
We tried 4 rod holders and it prevented us from having anywhere to clip the tray/table to. one thing about our trolley, you can move out and back with the tide and still have everything to hand. You can even wind in while pushing it down to the water without having to take your rod out of the holder as the tide goes out, if you see what I mean.
I see the biggest draw being the match angler, fishing with a 2nd rod made up, he need never be further than arms length from anything he wants.

definately a good idea(as long as the wheels are not yellow like the ones in the link!). have you evaluated a market for it?
would it still stay put if it gets hit by a rogue wave, ie. surf fishing? could the bouyancy of the wheels turn it over?!

Andy,
The cart in the picture is quite an old model, that is one of the carts with the problem wheels, they jam and stop in soft sand, also they are hard to take up and down stairs.
Our trolley will be an upright style, easy to fold and place in the boot of a car, the model in the picture is used by guys who drive a pickup truck.
Mark,
Thing is with our cart, the more weight the better it will work if a rogue wave did hit it, having said that it wouldnt be in the surf anyways, would it.
If we had not done the deal on the Roleez wheels we would not be making one of these things, there is no other wheel like them for where you can take them.
IMO anglers who spend that kind of money would want to take their cart/trolley anywhere, not only along piers or hard sand, whithout the balloon tyre that's about the only time it could be used.
We have some boxes (various sizes) in the make that will fit and stack on the trolley also.

i know what its like, i used a small trolley today for my box etc with wheels about 9inch, the hard plastic type. with the load on it it was fine over flat hard ground but the minute i hit the soft sand on the beach......well you can guess yourself!! i left a couple of tracks up cushendun beach nearly bigger than the ones b0ogaloo left on it with the land rover on friday night!!!
this definately sounds like a very interesting innovation, would it suit to have the bait table fitted with removeable bait tubs?? kind of like the stand used by coarse anglers for their bait tubs(4of)???

Yep that was me :D
Ive designed one myself ....note the custom bait board on the front wing, the over sized tyres ,removable bed chair etc
Its V8 powered, saves all that pushing and pulling nonsense
It will be available after xmas in black

Phil,
The 4 tubs and the tub holder thingy were added from the very concept of the plan 8) and some other unmentionables that will tittle a sea anglers heart :)

The only trouble with this cart is how do you get it to the beach. I just cant picture myself towing this yoke behind my car. Anyway its cheaper to give up the fags and then you would have no problem marching down the beach with all your gear.

Ok mister rockhopper, Andy makes a good puppet, but can you make a good trolly. unless you can make it fold down very small it will be a non runner not everyone has a Land rover or a truck to go fishing in. Maybe you would be better off getting married to a east european womens weight lifter and get her to carry your gear and teach her to dig your bait as well.
