Baiting with squid...

Sat May 04, 2013 1:12 pm

Hey guys,
I've got my hands on 10 or so frozen squid, and since I'm still quite a novice, I've never used it before but I plan to tomorrow. As far as I can see its dirty squid and not cleaned. I have pennell rigs but would it be better to separate the body from the tentacles and use them seperate as opposed to using them whole.

Do I use them thawed or just thawed enough to thread a hook in it?..

Thanks

it can also be fished on its own ,cut it into long thin strips put it on your hook and use some bait elastic to secure it ,make sure you leave plenty to flap about in the current ,it will take all kinds of fish ,from flounder to bass ,it must look like a sandeel to the fish ,4 or 5 inch is a good length  my best fish was an 8 lb bass using this method 8)
