The pier at New Quay has Huss and Conger; fish the last of the ebb and 1st couple of hours of the flow. Tope used to be caught here (I only got 1 run in the last 5 years there) so use strong gear just in case (wire trace a must); nice spot to fish as you have Linnanes beside you

Fanore is supposed to be good but I've never connected there; you need to fish it at the right time (probably after a swell) but as stated by another poster, the lad in the fishing shop can usually help you in the right direction.
Also - there is loads of lure fishing from Black head all the way along the coast; if you get as far as Doolin there are large Pollock to be had (if they are there, very hit a miss). The other thing to try is search for Alan Yates Irish Sea safari videos (they are on you tube), he hits marks around Clare.
Depending on when you are going (in or out of the Bass ban), if you are up for a 45 minute walk the Rhine can be very good for Bass (you need to walk the entire length of the strip all the way to the point and if ground fishing, bring float beads as the crabs are a nightmare there.
