Bit of advice needed lads. Im no expert on beach casting but I do get it out as far as I need most of the time.
I have always used a miltiplier with a level wind on. What is the easy way of doing without one? Do you have to wear finger protection on a fast retrieve? I do f;y fish so its not as tho I havnt a clue but would like to know if there are any tricks cos I would like to start getting that bit further out. Thanks. any help appreciated

No, you don't need any finger protection for guiding the line onto the reel. Are you intending to convert a reel or are you intending to buy one that is a dedicated c.t.?

The main benefits of a ct is that you can get a much better grip of the spool for power casting and there is reduced drag against the cast.

Guide the line onto the spool with your thumb, the main thing is to keep the line lay even, without humps and bumps as these can cause problems during the cast. After a while this will become second nature and you will not have to look down while winding in.

Good luck
