Parking: East Coast Beaches

I know this may sound a stupid question but I’m looking for East Coast Beaches in the area roughly Dublin to Cullenstown, where it is possible to:

1. Park On
2. Immediately Adjacent To
3. Within Sight of Carpark/Parking

My reason for this is obvious, I don’t like leaving the motor in a remote spot unattended and out of sight. Although I never leave anything on view or in sight inside it, as the members already know, this is no deterrent to alloys going, a chance break-in or just general malicious damage and vandalism. I’m not seeking personal marks or secret spots, merely beaches , as detailed above, I can fish in relative peace and keep an eye on the motor at the same time. Again the obvious way to find out, without troubling the members, is go to them all……… and in other times this is exactly what I would have done. However, as I’m sure some members will appreciate, these days this is just not an option,.for me anyway.

I have tried a variety of methods i.e. google maps, google earth etc. but have found that what looks like it’s in sight may have a dune/bank/ditch or other obstruction not properly displayed. So I therefore rely upon the members knowledge and experience to assist me, if they will, either by replying through the forum or PM if preferred.

Closer to home is killiney beach, you can watch the car from the beach at the north end car park Bray beach you are very close to the car aswell straight over the railway level crossing, Bray harbour you can fish from the car if your looking for some handy fishing

Dollymount beach drive onto it, fish and keep an eye on the car and always cars around the two car parks either over the wooden bridge or down the causeway road.

I'd agree with bray and killiney. I'd also add courtown beach (forest walk) and again the pier if you wanted.

Thanks lad, very much appreciated. What about the beaches a bit further South i.e. Greystones, Kilcoole, Newcastle, Clones, Morriscastle.........I know there's more too, just can't think of their names

Greystones south beach the car may be just out of view but close enough, kilcoole is over a railway track and a gate so a little bit away but possible still viewable

Ballymoney. you can fish near enough to your car,,,,,,Ennereilly you can see the car,,,make sure its the small car park across the bridge south of the river,,,,Toberpatrick is ok too

I've never truely felt comfortable leaving my car anywhere along any east coast beach. Piers are good as you can fish right beside your car as said above.

just make sure nothing is visible in your car. if your boot is empty and you own a hackback, remove the boot cover so they see its empty. might put them off as theres nothing much they can nick other than the car.

Ballymoney and Courtown are ok as you can see your car, but you will get dodgy looking visitors pulling up during late nights. i usually walk towards them with my headlight on full. they tend to pull off quick enough. you can see your car from Ennerreilly too but i've found this spot particularly bad in the past.

from courtown further south to wexford most beaches have parking close by but usually on dark, empty country back roads.

Sometimes if the opportunity presents itself, i ask a house owner close by if i can park outside their house. i wonder if anyone else on this forum has ever bumped into Mazzer the beach comber and his dog down in St Helens? He came down specifically to invite us to park our car outside his house so its safe. He even gave us souvenirs of drawings he had done of ships passing by.

I heard a house fell into the sea from erosion on this strand years ago. is that true? is it easy to find?

Again, many thanks to all......very much appreciated. Ballyconnigar sounds & looks great many thanks for google reference too. Ideally looking for somewhere to travel down to early afternoon, get set up and fish straight through the evening and night..........a long session (saussies/rashers etc) and hopefully a productive one too lol. At this stage any bass or hounds would be Great "grand bass and hounds" would be OUTSTANDING :-O Guess where I'm heading..................soon, millions of thanks to all again.
