sadly a lot of the decent marks have been hammered hard the last few summers mate. a lot of boys have been killing the eels to take home and as a result some of the best spots only hold straps or none at all
the days of being able to hit a few of the better known spots and being guaranteed a double figure eel are gone. last year we struggled to get them into double figures at all with most coming in under 8lb. but you could'nt go wrong with looking for deep rocky marks and trying into darkness for them man

aye i had heard that like... me and dad had hit a few of his old marks had a few eels on and they just burried them selves in the weed. 5 years fishing and its my only species left to lift hah. looks like we might end up getting out on the boat to get one ha

Try Greenore. The harbour is actually closed off and has been for a few years. We usually pick up one or two from boats tied to the wall, but it should be possible to pick one up from the edge of the shore.
