found this mad looking thing and was just wondering if any lads on here have used this sort of trace or use bubble floats or cork on their traces..

wouldn't be too tempted, looks very prone to tangling if you haven't got the balance right between bait and weight. Even at that, the 2 hooks might tangle anyway during casting, which might be difficult as the entire thing is not streamlined at all for a proper blast.

had the same thoughts myself, tis like the mad scientist invention..thought maybe someone could shed some light on how its used..there is another pretty similar one called the ''ave maria'' i was thinking to myself is that what ya gotta sing to get it to cast a distance!

here it is,its actually not that similar, probly a lil easier to cast than the dutch yoke but id say it'd still wreck your head..still mad to hear from someone who actually uses these frankenstein traces...

Agreed, they look pretty messy. Could be fishable with a few well placed clips/impact shields though? I'd remove the extra hooklength on the first one and add an impact, might be worth a chuck if you could get the float/bait balance right...

they both look more like boat rigs

i have tried using one like the top one and just got back a tangled mess

the second one is like a one up one down with a floating flyer ,like all rigs they prob work given the right situation but to be honest simple rigs will tangle less giving better bait presentation

i usually do..with the cold evenings and work sucking up my days, have been mucking around with traces i aint tied before.have been tying my own with a couple of years now and usually just use variations of pulleys.

aye the 2nd one down looks like it could work in deep smooth ground well.i totally agree with simple rigging and the ease of use it has to offer, was just feeding curiosity to the cat...did you cast the one you used from shore roger or drop it off a boat,i have tied one to the spec of the image and i gotta say its a fairly uncontrollable contraption...contrary like.

if you loose the first snood,i reckon she'd cast like something not too far from a pulley...clips and shields could greatly increase the aero-dynamics of it though definatly, although i have waded thru the internet i cant seem to find a vid or someone using it...
maybe there is a reason for that
