Alright lads i was just wonder are there any fish in Our Ladys Island from the OS Maps it looks like it links into the sea.

The Lake gets cut off out at the mouth at carne beach. This sandbar gets 'cut' by the council once a year in the autum to lower the water levels. Therefore the area is called 'The cut of carne'
There is some fish in there such as eels,flounder,sticklebacks etc but not really worth fishing. If you search online you will find a report on sample netting that was done to establish exactly what was there at that time.

it was just out of curiosity i was asking my Da said he say a few fish in it a few years ago with their fins sticking up out of the water taught there might have been mullet in it.

Many years ago there was a comp held in rostoonstown and it was pretty rough out the front for the juniors to fish safely so they decided to let the seniors fish the front beach and and put the juniors inside on the lake. Turned out the juniors landed more fish than the seniors out front who had nothing but hardship. That was a one off though.
