Float fishing for Bass

Hi guys,
Going to try a little float fishing for Bass from rocks down south along the Waterford coast.
Any suggestions on best bait ??

some rag' or crab' i heard a guy got a big bass on hermit crab on float worth a shot :wink:

if you can catch some live pollock,mack or sandeel even better

I have had more than acceptable catch rates with ordinary "hard" crab under a float. just search for the smaller ones, those around the size of a 50p coin seems to work...for me anyway!

Was out the other day fishing for bass and we used shrimp with a float and we got one bout 5lbs in a estuary

+1 . I have never float fished for Bass myself but I have seen lovely Bass caught on small live pollock under a float. Good luck with it :)
