do you mean this kind of thing? http://www.headtorches.com/TigaSL.html
I have used them for years but just switched over to led as they are far easier to carry and less cumbersome.
My tiga is a great lamp, gives off light like a car head light but very heavy.

Any idea of a make and model of the lamps ? Mine took a dunking last night and it isn't looking promising.

How much light do you need? I used a Tiga for years and still have it, but I now use and carry a spare of the ones sold in the pound shops. 9 LEDs more than provides enough light to see what you're doing and thread baits etc. On the other hand, if you're looking to guide the passing ships in go for something more expensive :)

Ive a led lenser h7 and its got great power for watchin the rod tips but find the energiser lamps give a better light for baiting up as they give a wider arc of light as opposed to the more focussed beam from the led lenser.the led lenser was 55 euro approx ,I dont think I would spend much more on a lamp to be honest
