Reel Recomendation

Hi Guys, new to forum and new to any serious form of fishing. I'm in need of a new fixed spool reel for some shore / beach work and was wondering what some of you more knowledgable folk would suggest. I have a abu multiplier which I'm struggling to cast with and the current fixed spool I have - while large enough and seems to cast well enough just feels very weak. I'm looking for something of quality and something with a good, solid feel. Any views or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Either shimano or penn for fixed spool just be sure to get a dedicated surf reel as the freshwater reels aint up to the job especially the rear drag jobbies. The shimano alivio xsa are reasonably priced

i have a daiwa jupiter z 6000,have had it for years, still runs like it just came outa the box...twas my first serious FS (that i spent a coupla quid on)and i am only delighted with it.tis easily 6 years old id say...handy enough bobs too..id say you'd pick one up for in and around 40/60 hard earned yo yo's...
if mine could talk it would tell a few stories...tis been thru the wars and back, have owned a few okumas before that that are still on the go but after using jupiter z i didnt buy any more FS..so i couldnt tell ya bout the penns or the shimano's but i hear the mitchell are a handy ol reel for the price bout 25/30 snots... :)

Shimano ultegra XSA 10000

Anything from the Shimano stable in sizes 8000 - 12000 will last you the test of time. Cheaper reels are a false economy
