Sorry, can't really help, there would be some reluctance for some lads to give out spots,I'd say have a look at the shore marks section here and have a trawl through it,it would give you an indication,I believe your average bass are palm sized down there but you never know your luck

I was on the same boat as you 2 weeks ago and never got any good feedback here. I think your best bet would be to talk to Kevin at Waterville. He can point you at the right direction depending on where you are heading and the weather /tide when you are there.

Good luck.

I sent you a pm with info/advice 15 minutes after you first posted looking for help. It shows as being read from my sent box. Didn't you get it?

Would've been nice to acknowledge it, if only by pm, never mind say thanks.

http://www.kbfishingireland.com/ Kevin would be the best Bassman down that way

The nearest areas would be either St. Finians Bay, on the way to Waterville, or Rossbeigh back towards Kenmare. Both may be infested by surfers.

Kells bay is a nice little family beach. Out on the right hand point you’ll get Pollack, Wrasse, and mackerel bashers

I'm sorry but I thought I gave you good advice in that Cahersiveen was not a Bass area.
I did suggest the two nearest places

Hi Donal,

That's what I meant when I said the above... nothing on the bass end... I did go to the places you've mentioned and got Pollock... orange pollock and more pollock... Rossbeigh blank, Kells bay Pollock, waterville Pollock, Pier around the island in caherciveen Pollock. Reason why I suggested to talk to Kevin in Waterville he may be able to help first hand when he is at the location. They were all good beach though and kids loved them... all the fish went back... didn't even bother to take photos. They were less then a foot long...

Thanks again.

sorry didn't see this in time rossbeigh beach would be your best bet try lugs and sandeel.

for a quick weekend like that you might as well pony up for a guide if you really want to catch a bass

as donal already said it is the wrong peninsula and looking for bass I would hit brandon bay.

Also people are understandably wary of giving out bass marks even by pm.
bass is easy to catch if you are at the right place at the right time. they tend to move about with the tide and can be found (in my limited experience) in the same places at the same stages of the tide each day. If you give a person a location and tide state you are giving them everything.
