tide or time of day for Bass?

Sun Jul 01, 2012 12:41 pm

Hi lads,

This time two years ago I caught a couple of bass the same week off some rocks in Cork. This was when it was getting dark - you could barely see anything both nights.

I'd like to go out tonight but it'll be low tide at 10.30. So tide will just have turned as its getting dark.

Everything I'm reading says not to bother - wait till its flooding/ high tide and getting dark.

What do you reckon? I'll be spinning a feed Shallow.

Thanks for any advice!

D.

If your heading lurefishing tonight somewhere in cork be sure to check the weather as its blowing hard and bucketing rain not the best conditions for rockhopping or anything else for that matter.

About 2 weeks ago the low tide was about the same time. I caught my first bass at that night just half hour after low tide.

Fairly nasty out allright be wary of big waves and your footing and if its an area your unfamiliar with be sure you way back doesnt flood leaving you stranded.Good luck with your session
