Hello there croppyboy. What sort of fishing are you after? In my humble opinion the best fishing at this time of year is to be had in darkness, the fish have the confidence to move in closer thus ruling out the need for any sort of distance casting. The wicklow beaches are all fishing reasonably well at the moment for codling and other bits and pieces such as coalies and dogs. For bait you can pick up rag in most of the major tackle shops around the city although I think Henrys is closed for a couple of weeks. Most of them sell frozen peeler too which while not quite as good as fresh, is a great bait at this time of year. Lug can be a bit more difficult to get hold of but try digging around the worm casts in Dollymount, redrock or Baldoyle and you should get a few if the tackle shops dont have any. If you do decide to venture out in darkness dont be too worried about making up fancy rigs either because your mostly trying to attract the fish through the scent of your baits so something big and smelly on a 2/0 pennel rig with a snood of about 8 - 10 inches should do you grand. Dont be afraid to try out cocktails either and maybe include some fish baits like squid or sandeel. Hope this is of some help.
