Aughris beach - mullet or bass ?

I've just seen 2 separate shoals of I would guess between 5 and 10 decent size fish . Both were between 20 & 30 yds offshore . One was towards the rocky side of a very small harbour , the other was running parallel to a beach just behind the second ( very small ) wave . H/W & very calm .
I couldn't see the fish themselves but they were just below the surface , occasionally showing their backs , with dorsal fins that looked to be several inches high and spanning something like my fingers spread apart . I reckon they have to be either mullet or bass . I'm afraid that mullet would be more likely in these parts but I haven't seem them running along waves like that before . Any thoughts ?
"These parts" = Polnadiva pier & Aughris Beach , Co Sligo . The beach looks like it has to hold fish but I've just blanked there several times . The locals say there hasn't been anything there for years . Well at least we now know there is something .
BTW there was apparently a bunch of guys fishing the beach on Thursday night . That's pretty unusual . Wasn't any of you lot was it ? Would be interested to hear .

Not certain, given spellings, but Pete might be referring to the same place in the post below:

If it is, then it looks like you were right about the mullet!

Cheers MacD - I hadn't seen that . Almost certainly the same place . There are quite a few around here where the name is spelt differently at each end of the village eg Tobercurry / Tubbercurry : Tourlestraun / Tourlestrane . Doesn't help when searching this site , let alone trying to find the way home .
I've sent Pete a pm .
