seen them in carrick, glenarm and waterfoot. never tried to catch them been told its near impossible lol.

think to stand a chance you need to ground bait it let them feed for a while then repeat and try and get a hook amoungst them lol need to use small hooks and light line so they dont spook.

ive heard of people catching them on bread and sweet corn as well.

they can turn up absolutely anywhere!glenarm marina is packed with them in summer but you are not allowed to fish into the harbour itself apparently   . coarse fishing gear and flurocarbon lines are the way to go.size 4 hook max!be prepared for a wait! seen a few up at garron point last year as well, another notable mark is the barr mouth piers at the end of the bann.a few were caught around this time of year last year on normal flounder rigs etc on portstewart and benone beaches!

When I was a kid I used to fish for them at the mouth of the river at Ballydrain ( near Killinchy,Co Down ) As the tide started to come up the river so did the mullet , you could just see the bow waves as they edged their way up .

Groundbait was cat food and breadcrumbs, gear was carp rod and stick float with a size 6-8 hook , bait was the groundbait squeezed over the hook.

IMO one of the hardest fighting fish you will ever hook
