Does anybody know of a good rock venue in wateford for spinning/plugging for bass. If so, what type of plugs/spinners would be best to use? Thanx

Daven,
I know you may hear this a bit but a lot of the Waterford coast has spots that contain Bass that are ideal for spinning and plugging. Getting a specific mark from someone is difficult as people including myself tend to guard them very closely as there is a growing exploitation of Bass all along the Irish coast. I'm not sure if you have access to a car or not but the best thing to do is to buy an OS Map. Have a really close look and try to pick out a rocky mark fairly close to a beach or even one by it'e self. You want the rocks to be exposed to the tidal forces, ie bare at low tide, and not many rocks visable at full tide. Such a venue in Waterford WILL hold bass. Now it's just a matter of putting in the hours and trying to hook them. Others may disagree but my best months along this coastline are from July to September. It is still possible to catch one but they are getting more scarce.
Please remember that the size limit is 40cm and you are not allowed more than 2 per day. Just because you are allowed 2, doesn't mean that you have to kill two either. Please release all fish you do not intend to eat yourself.
Have fun,
Kevin
