Hi Col,
Wrasse are still around, speaking to guy who got half dozen near Killybegs yesterday. They do seem to have moved off the really exposed marks and the ones that are still around are on the more sheltered rock marks.
Pollock still about but shore fishing for them in Donegal this year has been desperate, any amount of small fish but rarely anything above 3 1/2lb.

Noticed that meself hard fishing all year best fish i had was around 7IB however every other a no bigger than a pound sandeels seemed to be the only thing working. Do you fish the Downings area tra na rossan, melmore head etc

I've noticed the pollock in donegal to be very small all year. Thought they would have got bigger into the Autumn but seems not. Everything I've heard of caught from the shore has been under 3lb. Guys in boats a couple of hundred yards offshore seem to have been getting plenty of lunkers - 6lb plus. I wonder is there a massive year class of juvenile pollock this year and the larger fish are staying that bit further out?

Hairy Conger,
Fish throughout Donegal. That 7lb fish you got was a beauty, seen very few that size from the shore in last two years.
You could be right about the yearclass theory sandman. With so very little research beind done compared to the likes of bass its so difficult to know. I hope its just a blimp in classes and that there will be better fish around next year. Tried a lot of rocky out of the way places this year and the only decent pollock I seen came from Belmullet in Mayo.
