Tackle for surf fishing in the Dingle Peninsula

Heading down to Dingle over Easter and hoping to do some surf fishing for Bass. Getting Bob Moss' book out of the library but in the meantime hoping to get a bit of advice on what tackle to use?
Rodwise I have a 12 ft beachcaster casting weight 4-8 oz, a 9 ft rod rated to cast 4-6 oz (its a fairly stiff rod ... sold as a 'pier rod') and a spinning rod rated to cast up to 2 oz. I know none of these are probably ideal. I'm thinking the beachcaster is prob too heavy, the 'pier rod' too short and the spinning rod is only capable of casting 2 oz which I'm guessing is not enough? But which do you think would be best for the likes of Inch? Not sure what weight would be needed there.
Another thing I was wondering about is that I have orange shock leader and I'm wondering should I replace that with clear?
Also does anyone know can you buy lugworm down that way?
Sorry for all the questions I don't usually do much bait fishing.

I hope you're right Roger cause going by my general catch rate you'd swear I was using the clothes line!
