Hi Mark

Been using an Okuma Zircon 50 all summer and its very nice, 8 ball bearings, two extra spools, rear drag which I feel is a must for spinning - the only quibble I have is that the reel handle / arm can slowly detach or loosen - its one of these ambidextrous fittings. You have to heck it every few casts and tighten it up. Believe that the Eclipse is a good piece of kit -Okuma make other people's kit including pieces for well known brands.

You should try anglersnet or other big uk sites for some feedback...

FWIW...

See if Glasgow angling centre (grrr) have the Penn Prion still Mark. 25 sterling plus P&P. I'll bring mine to show you next time we meet up. It's very solid, and built to last. Lovely reel for spinning and float fishing.

Any of the Okuma's would be a good bet too.

I have a Okuma Eclipz EZ-50

I absolutely love this reel, its saltwater proof out of the box.
The whole working with this reel is awesome. I have just it for surfcasting to, its not made for it but it can do the work.

Hello Fogelberg,

can you please tell me, if a spare spool is included in the Okuma Eclipz packing?

Thanks,
Thilo

Possibly the only negative thing i can find about this reel.
There is no spare spools, have to be bought separate, but i havent found any.

Hello Fogelberg,

thanks for the information. That sounds bad.
What did you pay for the Okuma in Sweden?
In Germany the price is 75 Euro (Eclipz 50).

Did you ever use the Penn Slammer 260 or 360?
If yes, how can you compare the Slammer to the Eclipz?

Thanks an regards,
Thilo
