Shannon area.

Hi guys,
Im down in Shannon for a couple of days and want to do a bit of sea fishing.
Is there any good places on the estuary? Piers, rocks etc?
Does anyone know a good tackle shop near? Need to get some gear.
Thanks :)

Hi Dustyirl

To be honest there is not much around Shannon itself, but if you travel down to Kilrush you can fish cappagh pier or the strand up from the pier, you should get dogs, conger or whiting. If you go on a bit further you can fish poulnasherry or on down around Kilkee, don't know how it's fishing at the moment but always worth a cast

Hi Dusty

Mackerel would be the best, sandeel has also worked for us. If you come in as far as limerick there is a few tackle shops, mainly deal with freshwater but have frozen baits and a few bits and pieces, if you need directions to these give me a shout and I will let you know
