west cork fishing over winter

can anybody recomend any areas down this neck of the woods where i could catch any cod from the beaches
or am i better off traveling up to monkstown and if so what baits would be best used there as ive never
fished there before.

any help would be much appreciated :?

not sure about the beaches man but youghal, monkstown and cobh all fish well enough for cod, usual baits would be peeler crab or lug worm

Cocktail of razor lug and peeler or squid instead of razor and dont forget the mussel in the cocktail works for me..

hi paul
i live in dunmanway , ive only been sea fishing for the last two years because there is,nt any
barbel fishing over here. so still trying to find places to fish especially over the winter months
i am actually coming over to adrigole next thursday to fit a stove so i will have a look around
in the afternoon while i am there

Drop in when you are over and i will mark your card for you. Just back from a short session and caught 3 nice cod all about 3lb apiece. Plenty about and bass as well.
