fishing at castletownbere

can anyone tell me if you are allowed to fish from the quayside at castletownbere, if you can what fish are to be caught, thank you, john

You can fish from the Quayside, if you can find space between the boats, but on the few occasions we have tried it has not been that succesful. With all those fishing boats it should be conger paradise but it is more crabby paradise and the best thing to go for is mullet but be warned the water is often dirty, oily and noisy with all the activity on the boats.
The opposite side at Dinish Island used to be good for conger but they put a new quay in a couple of years ago and i imagined they concreted over the best conger holes so I have not tried it since.
