Anyone know anything about this well known mark near ballinskelligs? i fished there a few times and done ok but your updated shore mark section suggests species that I havent encountered , wondered whether I am in the right place or not ???

Fished it a few times myself over the summer. Had some ok pollock fishing off it but that was the lot. With a few hardbacks you should get some wrasse. Macks were thin on the ground this year whenever I fished the area. What a venue though. BTW, I had better results on sandeel, spinning and float fishing.

a word of warning though. it can be lethal in any sort of a swell. there are much more productive rock marks that are safer on the other side of the bay. in my 20 odd yrs fishing the bay i have never fished this spot as a result of the drownings, all fisherman as far as i know!

I never heard of anyone getting washe doff here ??? Culloo on valentia is known to be like that . I have fished on the inside of the bay onto sandy bottom near to the cottages and on the atlantic side near the cottages at the end of teh road as well. I know that you can walk further out and i guess its here i am wondering about ? codling dabs etc would suggest sand or muddy bottom ???

there have been a few i have heard of. down in valentia is dangerous enough too especially if u r not aware that the wave if it does come will be whipping in and up from behind ya
